Welcome to BluesRoots! In these pages, you'll find information and classroom activities developed and honed in elementary, middle and high school residencies which took place throughout Georgia, Virginia, North and South Carolina in the 1980's and 90's. They may be used to supplement your classroom instruction, music program, or to amplify the impact of a blues or blues related performance at your school.

Scott Ainslie's residency work has been cited by the National Endowment for the Arts as a model of interdisciplinary instruction. Scott has conducted workshops and given sample master classes for artists and teachers for the South Carolina Arts Council's artist-in-education conferences and continues to be a much sought after presenter for educators and students alike.

Concentrating now on teaching concerts and presentations, Scott has chosen to make these activities freely available on the Internet as a reciprocal gift to the classroom and music teachers, from whom he has learned so much about the arts of both music and teaching, over the years.

While this information is copyrighted, the rights claimed allow it to be downloaded for non-profit, educational use. Should you care to contact him, Scott's contact information is listed below. We hope you'll enjoy the site and find the activities and information useful.
